Managing HIV Disease: Getting the Most from Your Therapy

Healthy Tips to Go By...

  • Take your anti-HIV medications every time, and exactly as prescribed.

  • Pay close attention. Be sure to take the right number of capsules or tablets with each dose -- and with or without food, as instructed.

  • Plan ahead. Carry your anti-HIV medications with you if you think you may not be at home to take your next dose.

  • If you are thinking about taking a 'drug holiday', stopping or reducing your medication for any reason, please talk to your doctor first. Your well-being depends on it.

  • Remember to fill your prescriptions early, so you won't suddenly run out of medication at a bad time.

Take your medications correctly! And you'll strengthen your body's ability to fight HIV effectively for longer.
