You may think of Merck Frosst and our parent company, Merck & Co., Inc., as big pharmaceutical companies and you're right – well partly right. Merck Frosst is a research-driven pharmaceutical company. But we're much more than that, thanks to George Merck and his philosophy of putting “patients first.” Merck Frosst and Merck have devoted decades to discovering, developing, manufacturing and marketing innovative products. We continue to do the same today, but now in more than 20 therapeutic categories. |
Our company is also widely recognized for our extensive efforts to increase access to medicines. For example, Merck has several far-reaching programs that get medicines into the hands of the people around the world who need them. Merck also provides general health information to consumers by publishing resources as a not-for-profit service. Why? Because 50 years ago, George Merck said he wanted his company to put patients first. These words still guide our actions today. |
